El III Congreso Internacional de EducaRed se celebrará en Madrid los días 3, 4 y 5 de noviembre de 2005 en el Palacio Municipal de Congresos Juan Carlos I.

Desde abril de 2005 el Congreso se pone en marcha a través del Área de trabajo virtual: espacio de debate y colaboración abierto a la participación de todos los interesados.

[not] MoodleMoot España 2005

La primera reunión de usuarios de Moodle de España, MoodleMoot Spain 2004, tuvo lugar en la Universitat Jaume I de Castellón el viernes 29 de octubre de 2004 y la próxima reunión, MoodleMoot España 2005 tendrá lugar en Las Palmas de Gran Canaria del 1 al 2 de diciembre de 2005.

El propósito de la MoodleMoot es servir de punto de encuentro directo y personal entre todos los moodlers que usamos esta herramienta para contactos virtuales. Conocernos, charlar, intercambiar experiencias y pasar un buen rato juntos.

Para la reunión de 2005 nos planteamos tratar dos temas preferentemente:

* La implantación de Moodle como herramienta de Campus virtual en Universidades como innovación en enseñanzas superiores e intercambio de experiencias en las universidades instaladas.

* Consecuencias del desarrollo de nuevos estándares (IMS-Learning Design) para el futuro de Moodle y de la enseñanza virtual. Incluyendo la influencia de los sistemas alternativos de creación de contenidos.

Nuestro propósito es ofreceros un programa interesante que nos motive a todos a acudir a esta reunión.

Hemos preparado un programa en medio día + día completo que permite asistir a la MoodleMoot y aún tener casi un día entero libre reservando tan sólo dos noches de hotel. (leer más…)

El experto participa en el próximo lanzamiento de “Un notebook por niño», proyecto que pretende crear millones de computadores portátiles a sólo cien dólares, puestos en manos de niños que hoy no tienen la posibilidad de tener acceso a la tecnología.

SANTIAGO.- La Cámara Nacional de Comercio, confirmó que el próximo 26 y 27 de octubre estará en nuestro país Nicholas Negroponte, director del Laboratorio de Medios del Instituto de Tecnología de Massachusetts (MIT), quien se hizo mundialmente conocido por su publicación “El Ser Digital” (Being Digital) en 1996, texto en el que analizó y adelantó hechos de la llamada revolución digital. Precedido de este éxito, este experto viene a Chile con un proyecto muy ambicioso. [art] Web-based Distance Learning: Substitute or Alternative to the Traditional Classroom: Making the Delivery Method Decision

Abstract

When a distance learning program administrator makes the critical choice of delivery methods, she/he needs to consider factors such as program developer centrism, international experience, cultural similarity, and desired level of control which will all be elaborated on in this article. The aim of this manuscript is to assist international business program developers with first a systematic framework and secondly a decision-tree model for making this critical delivery decision. Globalization and technology as well as changing demographics are altering our view of the field of international business, no where is this more evident than in the ways we teach executives and future managers to equip them for careers in international business. Web-based distance learning (WBDL) has skyrocketed into the training and education arenas since the mass usage of Internet technology began in the late 1990’s. It is no longer a fad or new trend it is now an established, although rapidly changing, approach for delivering educational materials such as international business courses for both training and educational courses and programs. Our focus here is on finding answers to two questions: first, should the delivery method be primarily based on a global standard, or a locally customized, or a hybrid international business program? And secondly, should international business courses be delivered in the form of WBDL supplements to traditional classroom courses or as substitutes that are entirely online? In conclusion, we offer several suggestions and research ideas to distance learning administrators and while the focus has been on international business education, we invite a discussion of broader applications of both the framework and decision-tree model which we have contributed.
