Vint Cerf, aka the godfather of the net, predicts the end of TV as we know it

Web guru foresees download revolution

Thirty years ago he helped create a technology that has revolutionised millions of lives around the world. But yesterday the man known as the «godfather of the net» laid out his vision of where our online future might be, including a time when we download entire TV series in seconds – and even surf the web from Mars.

Talking at the MediaGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival, Vint Cerf – one of the handful of researchers who helped build the internet in the 1970s – said that the television industry would change rapidly as it approached its «iPod moment».(leer más…)

¿Será China la primer potencia en 2050?, ¿cuál es la mejor manera de aprender en el mundo de los “Nativos Digitales”?, ¿cuáles tecnologías tendrán mayor aplicación para beneficio de la sociedad en los próximos años?

Algunas predicciones establecen que, para 2050, China será la primera potencia económica del mundo. Económicamente hablando, ha crecido a un ritmo de 8.9% en promedio durante los últimos 10 años, situación que hace posible que la predicción pudiera cumplirse. La tabla 1 presenta los datos principales de China, India, México, Brasil y Estados Unidos.

Para hacer estas predicciones, los expertos se basan en las tendencias que se observan actualmente y que, en forma probablemente inteligente puede suponerse, modificarán los contextos social, económico y tecnológico del mundo.
