Aquí tenéis un interesante post del blog Experiencing e-learning, titulado Facebook as LMS?, sobre las redes sociales como lugar para el aprendizaje y sus diferencias con los LMS tradicionales…todo a raíz de una pregunta de Sarah Robbins en Ubernoggin.
En este caso, se concentra en Facebook, una de las más fuertes redes sociales americanas…como podéis comprobar en el nuevo informe de fumero.

Sarah Robbins posted on Ubernoggin today with the title Roll your own LMS with Facebook. She says that rather than using a traditional LMS that students don’t use as often as they perhaps should, you can use Facebook as a “near perfect course management system,” with chat, file sharing, and “Courses.” It looks to me like the Courses feature was shut down recently but that other options are available through 3rd parties. (If I’m wrong on that, someone please correct me.)
I’m still thinking about the questions raised at the Online Networking in Courses presentation I attended last week. I asked Sarah how she thinks using Facebook would structure learning differently than how it would be structured in a traditional LMS.
Here’s part of her answer:
Personally, I think increasing social interactions in learning is never a bad thing so using a tool that makes social interaction so easy has to be a good thing. I also think it’s beneficial to integrate learning into social spaces because it reinforces the idea that learning doesn’t just happen in privileged spaces but can happen anywhere and without the intervention of an “official teacher.” I think it helps put subject matter in a broader context of other areas that students are interested in so that the lines between “course work” and “life” aren’t so structured.

Tengo preparado este post desde el 16 de Agosto en el borrador. Me pregunto muchas veces, si lanzar al aire todo lo que uno escribe o no?…unas cosas pasan, otras no tienen sentido al cabo del tiempo pero otras lo cobran en la vorágine de los comentarios, contestaciones, etc…

Experiencing e-learning, ha escrito con fecha 18 de Agosto un post titulado:
Social Networking as LMS: Problems and Opportunities; en el que se desdice y no se desdice de lo dicho en el post inicial al que hacía referencia en este blog, ya que D. Stephen Downes la había paneado.
Interesante… y ya puestos a dar referencias sobre el tema, aquí tenéis otro famoso bloguero con un post del July 26 2007, Christopher D. Sessums con un post titulado
Seamless Integration: Facebook as a Personal or Shared Learning Environment

Pues con esta anunciamos la creación de nuestros dos facebooks groups, es decir, edublogs y e-learning, conocimiento en red y web colectiva. Todavía estoy por ver de que va realmente todo esto, y casi que en principio no entiendo por qué no se suma más que se resta…por qué no unir varios servicios en uno sólo? …delicious+ facebook+ ning + feevy+ meneame+ corank+ …así votaremos, nos conoceremos, crearemos red social, sabremos qué leemos, cuando lo leemos, votaremos entre nuestra comunidad…etc…sin que los servicios sean una locura desintegrada…por la integración colectiva de los servicios web …campaña ya!!!;-.) (…me río con grano en el mostacho)
